Applications and auditions for Pride's Got Talent 2022 are now closed.

Below you can find more information on the process of applying as well as dates for our PGT performances. Please note that the following application process was for Pride's Got Talent's 2022 and may change in the future.

Before you apply

Prepare your audition video

You'll be asked to upload an audition video when completing the application form. These will be reviewed by our panel of industry judges and from there we will invite successful applicants to appear at our Live Heats.

Please note: Applicants should upload their video to YouTube before starting the application form. Check our upload guide video below for information on how to do this.

Guide to uploading your audition video for Pride's Got Talent 2022

The video does not need to be ‘studio' quality – a recording on your phone or laptop is all that is needed! Video submissions can be filmed at home; in your bedroom, kitchen, garden - whatever works for you. Keep things simple and let your talent shine. The judges are looking at your talent so please keep the video focussed and follow these guidelines:

  • Keep the video under five minutes.

  • Perform just one song (musicians), piece or set (cabaret acts).

  • If you wish to introduce yourself and the piece please do – let our judges see your personality.

  • Film in landscape.

  • Ensure we can see you – try not to be back lit. Filming facing a window always helps if you don’t have lighting.

  • You may use pre-existing footage of a live performance if you believe the quality is high enough, but we would prefer a self tape.

  • The film needs to be of your live act – ie, not a music video where the track has been mastered/produced – obviously backing tracks are fine.

  • If you have further questions feel free to email michaeltwaits@prideinlondon.org

We asked a few previous Pride’s Got Talent finalists to create some example audition videos for us – watch them and you'll see there is a full range of styles and filming quality but all let the talent shine through.

Submit your application

Use our online form to submit your application to take part. It should take about ten minutes in total. Submissions are open until April so please be aware that we may not be in touch until applications have closed. We wish to see as many acts as possible live so will also hold people in reserve in case of cancellations.

To complete an application you'll need

  • To have uploaded your audition video as 'unlisted' on YouTube

  • A short bio about your act or group

  • A hi-res image of your act

  • Links to your website or social media profiles (if you have any)

  • To know your availability for April/May when we plan to hold our heats

If you're applying as a group we recommend that you fill out the form together to ensure everyone's details are correct. If you've got all that then you're ready to start your application. Remember, by entering the competition you accept the Pride's Got Talent competition terms and conditions.

Applications are now closed

After you apply

Our panel of judges review the videos in groups of ten and from their feedback we will be inviting successful applicants to our Live Heats. Music and Cabaret acts are judged separately by our panel made up of a diverse range of relevant industry professionals.

Live heats

April/May 2022

Successful entries are given the opportunity to perform in front of a panel of industry-recognised judges. Depending on their act, the performer will be seen by one of the below panels. To ensure that no one is discriminated against, the judges will judge on talent and quality within their category as listed above.

These auditions will be held in a London LGBT+ venue and will have audience members watching the competition. Each act will be asked to perform for a maximum of 8 minutes. The panel may want to ask some questions after their audition. The panel and producer also reserve the right to not listen to or watch full performances.

Semi finals

May 2022

The rounds will lead to a semi-final for each category with the same format to our initial Live Heats.

The Final

26th June 2022

Finalists, once again, perform in front of a panel of judges. Previous finals have taken place at The Apollo on Shaftesbury Avenue and The Charing Cross Theatre. The winning artists, within both categories, will be announced as part of the shows finale.

Finalists are competing for the following:

  • PGT Music Winner (supporting a headline at Pride In London)

  • PGT Cabaret Winner (supporting a headline at Pride In London)

  • Sponsor Associated Prizes
